    Around 2002, I listened to almost nothing but A.R. Rahman and a few Hindi film composers.

    While studying sound engineering, I met the composer Ramesh Vinayakam. He asked what I listened to, then said: "Do you know how much music is being made in the world right now? Make an effort to listen to all of it." I still do.
